SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Sales Manager at the Hampton Roads Convention Center (HRCC). The Sales Manager is responsible for the management of annual clients, generating sales within the short-term 18-month timeframe, and work collectively with Embassy Suites on short term business, and the Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau on long term business. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Assist Senior Sales Manager in developing Sales and Marketing Plans to include goals and advertising. ● Uses sales and marketing principles to promote the facility. ● Solicits and secures business inside 18-month window ● Conducts facility tours for potential clients. ● Sends client pre-event information and follow-up information that affects booking. ● Quotes rates and creates formal license agreements. ● Handles pre-event correspondence and meetings until the account can be turned over to the Event Services Department. ● Represents the HRCC at industry related networking events. ● Establishes and maintains relationships with local hospitality partners. ● Work as Manager on Duty (MOD), when assigned. QUALIFICATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college of university in marketing, public relations, business administration, public administration or related field and two (2) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
