Electronic Systems, Inc. Field Support Tech in Suffolk, Virginia
Our client, a large financial institution, is seeking to add a Field Support Technical to their Suffolk, VA location. This FT 6 month contract to hire position will serve as the hands on implementation technician for all new facilities sites across the organization. In addition to workstations, printers and peripherals, the technician will install routing, switching, voice and A/V hardware as per the specification provided by the architecture teams. The other primary job role will be the implementation of Windows operating system, desktop and peripheral lifecycle equipment across the company according to pre-established standards. Occasionally responsibilities will include the basic troubleshooting and repair of workstation connectivity, application issues and other desktop installed software.
Use pre-established tools to image workstations
Install client software or applications as needed
Physically move each completed system to the assigned office location
Migrate user data, settings and applications from old hardware to new hardware
Assist with the migration and integration of newly acquired companies into the organization
Verify that users have access to any network resources as required
Provide basic instruction to user as needed
Remove and retire old systems as required
Provide updates for inventory controls
Provide antivirus management and support
Install, upgrade and troubleshoot all computer hardware and software
Set up and test workstations, peripherals, and printers for Windows and/or MAC environments
Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex desktop problems for end users
Recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users
Implement performance upgrades to computers, including the installation of CPUs, I/O and NIC modules, hard drives, RAM, etc.
Accurately document instances of desktop equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal
Obey all applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Team player who can also work independently
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all employees, staff and service providers and have a team player attitude
Must be flexible with work hours as business needs arise
Operating Systems - Windows 7/10, MAC OS
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues as they relate to Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems
3 – 5 years’ experience working in an IT support position (technical help desk/support center, end-user training, etc.)
Proficiency using and supporting Microsoft Office products
Experience using various types of remote control and call-tracking support tools
Flexibility to work overtime and on weekends in support of special projects and rollouts
The ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs, which will be required for moving various types of hardware (laptops, desktops, monitors, network gear etc.)
Valid drivers license and good driving record
