CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICE Michael Baker International’s civil engineering professionals manage and staff active projects in over 40 countries on five continents. Services are provided for a broad range of projects and capabilities, including highways, airports, bridges, rail and transit systems, government and commercial facilities, water and wastewater infrastructure, oil and gas infrastructure, and commercial/urban development. Our fields of expertise span all areas of civil engineering and include an extensive variety of specialty disciplines, such as environmental compliance and restoration, coastal engineering, urban development, and mining.
DESCRIPTION Have an understanding of surface water quality, storm water quality, storm water management, and applicable rules and regulations. Ability to write well, distill supporting information in the scientific literature, communicate technical issues to a wide range of readers.
•Demonstrated skills in performing environmental engineering tasks, field data collection, and technical document development •Field work including environmental sampling and engineering parameter collection •Prepare written and graphic reports •Support the development of proposals in response to RFQs •Required some travel to serve out of state clients •Prepare draft documents under direction •Ability to interact appropriately with regulatory personnel and clients for routine tasks •Excellent communication skills; both verbal and technical report writing •Highly motivated and capable of working effectively in a team environment
•Bachelors degree in civil, environmental, chemical or related engineering field •4 years of applicable experience •Attention to detail in work; high quality and accuracy in work performed •Strong analytical and computational abilities •Ability to interact appropriately with regulatory personnel and clients for routine tasks •Excellent communication skills; both verbal and technical report writing •Highly motivated and capable of working effectively in a team environment •Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
